  • While Going to the interview ware dress formally,but don’t overdress.Dress should be what is appropriate in your climate, Some basics in grooming will help.Well Groomed Hair,Well Pressed Shirt,Polished Shoes.
  • While going to the interview you must know about the company .A good place to start is the company’s web site.If you have been referred through a friend also have a frank discussion with him/her.And do a google search on the company to understand what other are saying about the company.
  • If possible, get the interview scheduled in the morning hours, the time when both you and the interviewers are still fresh.
  • Question answer should be directly and clearly Spell out your ideas as clearly as you can.  Also try to substantiate your ideas with examples.  Don’t be overly wordy and try to keep your answers to the point.  Do not try to deviate too much from the question.
  • Maintain the eye contact of the person while talking. This shows your confidence.
  • Should not be Argumentative ,present your view point and be professional. Learn to understand their point of view even if it clashed with your own.  This does not mean that you need to accept their point of view.

Group Discussion:
Group Discussion is a process where exchange of ideas and opinions are debated upon. A typical GD comprises of a small group of candidates. Each group is then given a topic for discussion. The topic can be general or specific. 
Here are some Tips you should keep in mind while you participate in a group discussion which definitely helps you to gain Confidence in Group Discussions.
  1. It is recommended for students to work on their grammar, accent and communication skills if they don’t want to feel and look stupid during GD.
  2. Form small groups and discuss some current topics, every few days, before the final GD. This will kill fear & shyness and build confidence for the day.
  3. Initiating the discussion is a major plus point but do so only if you’re very clear about the topic and know a lot about the same.
  4. Body language is important, so be careful while using gestures and do not ever get aggressive.
  5. Maintain eye contact with team members. Ensure that you get to speak your point Louder and your voice should be audible.
  6. Be positive and do not be over confident.
  7. Try and sort out contradictions and arguments. Providing a meaningful direction to the discussion always leaves a good impression on the evaluators.
  8. Always carry a pen and a notebook. This allows you to refer to what others have said previously.
  9. Carefully listen to what others have to say. Just speaking throughout the discussion doesn’t make you smart, you should also give others a chance to speak. Try and listen to him/her, respect their view point too. If the speaker is making an eye-contact with you remember to acknowledge him by saying “yes, you agree” or just by nodding your head, so that the speaker is aware that his listeners are listening to him and paying full attention. This will also show that you are vigilant and are an active participant in the discussion.
  10. As mentioned earlier, initiating a GD is an advantage. Closing it too also adds brownie points. If you can grab the opportunity to close the discussion, then you should summarize it.
